Information
Program Organisation
Classes start at 9:00 am and usually finish at 4:00 pm depending on class times. Morning break is 30 minutes and lunch 1 hour.
The morning classes of two 90 minute lessons focus on learning English that students can use in the afternoon excursions and activities, as well as everyday transactions and talking with native Australian people. The afternoon activities can be changed according to the needs of individual programs. Musical, scientific, performing arts, sporting and cultural events can be added, along with local and/or full day excursions that take in the natural Australian environment and Armidale's location.
Weekend excursions of 1 or 2 days can also be arranged as part of the educational experience. The mountain town of Armidale is less than 3 hours from the coastal area of Bellingen and Coffs Harbour where students can experience the food, shopping, weekend markets, beautiful beaches, zoo and other tourist attractions that these cities offer. Rainforest walks, white-water rafting, waterfalls and historic towns are all within 90 minutes of Armidale.
Participants
Study tour participants are usually aged 18 or over. However, please contact us with regard to any age group, as arrangements can also be made for younger groups. A typical group size would be 12 to 20. Smaller or larger groups can also be catered for.
Accommodation
Accommodation can be either at a college residence on campus, or in homestay.
Homestay is where a student has the chance to meet and live with an Australian family, and is an excellent way to experience the Australian lifestyle. English communication skills are quickly developed and long-term friendships are made with the families of Armidale. For more information on homestay go to http://www.une.edu.au/elc/studytours/homestay.php

As well as accommodation, tuition fees and excursions, the cost of a study tour program also includes airport pick-up at the Armidale terminal, access to email and university computers, use of the university library, welcome reception and morning tea on first day, and a farewell presentation which includes certificates and lunch.
