The Faculty of the Professions has trained some of the country's most skilled educators and health professionals using a wide range of flexible forms of open learning. It now trains many leading professional educators as well in challenging learning environments using the latest approaches to teaching and learning. A strong nexus between teaching, research and professional practice is promoted. We are widely recognised in Australia and overseas for our strong academic reputation in teacher education, nursing, health management, adult learning, administration, higher education and a range of specialisations in professional studies.
Doctoral completions rank amongst the highest in the country. Strong interest from international students in higher degree research awards is a feature of our awards. It is one of the largest trainers of beginning early childhood, primary and secondary teachers in the country. It has a proud history of educating administrators, adult educators, nurses and more recently, army personnel, police officers and counsellors.
Strong research and teaching networks exist between Faculty staff and other Australian and overseas' institutions. Strategic collaboration is a hallmark of this Faculty's approach to its leadership. The development of strategic markets for future educational and professional leadership is this Faculty's goal. It is a dynamic and innovative learning and leading organisational group.
