'All Staff' Notices
Under the federal Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Act 1999 and Part 9A of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, the University is required to implement Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies and programs. To meet its legislative obligations and to ensure the University is free from all forms of harassment and discrimination, ALL staff:
- must be aware of and familiar with the University's Equity policies, most particularly the Sex-Based Harassment Policy & Procedures.
Similarly, ALL staff:
- are required to complete the interactive, web based Equity training modules at EO Online: fair play.
- Everyone should work through module 1.
- Staff with managerial or supervisory responsibilities should work through modules 1 and 2.
Specific targets for completion of this training are set in the EEO Management Plan 2007–2010 and the HR Development Plan 2007–2010.

Staff can access:
- the Human Resource Services web site for Workplace Agreement and other employment details, and Academic Promotion information;
- its Occupational Health & Safety web site for OH&S information;
- its Organisational Development Unit for workplace training, career development, and induction information/guidelines for new staff and their supervisors; and
- its Employment Equity & Diversity web site (this site) for equity and diversity information.
- Student Assist offers Counselling Services to staff. Participation is voluntary, free and confidential. Staff can self-refer by contacting Student Assist on extn 2897 to make an appointment.
Student Related
Staff can access student-related information from:
- Student Assist for student disability support, student equity, student counselling, and service quality problems;
- the Student Centre for academic policy and regulations;
- the Teaching & Learning Centre for academic skills; and from
- the UNE Handbook.
Other Areas
- The Governance web site has information about the UNE Council, the University Ombudsmen, Academic Board and the Government Information (Public Access) [GIPA] policy, formerly Freedom of Information (FOI) policy;
- The Vice-Chancellor' Unit web site has information about the Vice-Chancellor's Committee;
- The Records Management Office (RMO) web site contains information on the UNE Privacy Policy Statement, policies and procedures for keeping University records, and lists all University policies, including academic policies (for staff and students) and the revised policies on Plagiarism.
