Equal Opportunity Advisers Team
The EO Adviser team comprises a diverse cross-section of University academic staff, general staff, and students. Completion of the training program is a prerequisite to joining the EO Adviser team whose members are available to provide equity-related advice, assistance and referral information. The training covers legislative and ethical issues, communication skills, problem solving, conflict resolution and mediation, thereby providing participants with important skills which enhance their career. Training comprises two days followed by two half days.

UNE Ally Network
The UNE Ally Network is a program which works to raise awareness about the issues faced by gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and intersex (GLBTI) staff and students. A half day training session followed by a one and a half hour induction session are pre-requisites to joining the UNE Ally Network.

If you would like to join the Ally Network, please contact us with your details. We will need your name, phone number or extension, and  email address. If you are a staff member please provide your work area; if you are a student please let us know whether you are a town student or which Residence you live at.

Pathways to Promotion
6 June 2012, Room 248 Education Building, 1 pm to 4 pm
Pathways to Promotion is a half day workshop  to assist in planning  for promotion application  in Academic Promotions Rounds. Short presentations on key aspects of preparing a promotion application, the promotions process, and how to deal with issues such as career interruptions (e.g. due to parental leave, carer responsibilities etc) will be given. Presenters and senior staff  will be available to answer any questions intending applicants may have. Past applicants at all levels will talk about both successful and unsuccessful applications. Although the workshop is targeted primarily at academic women, any academic staff members who feel that they may be at a disadvantage in relation to the application process and would benefit from participation are very welcome to attend.

Afternoon tea will also be provided.

Planning ahead for promotion is highly recommended. If you are thinking of applying for promotion in 2013 or 2014 you should consider attending the workshop. 2012 applicants are also welcome. There is no charge for this workshop.
