Management Structure

Management committee

The day-to-day activities of the centre will be overseen by a management committee comprising the Director, Deputy Director and four other Centre members representing the three Schools in the Faculty. The Director will be nominated by the members and approved by the Head of the School of Education and the Dean of FEHPS for a three-year term and will be reviewed and confirmed annually by centre members. The Director should be a member of the Centre. The members of the management committee will serve for a three-year term. The EFTSU allocation for the Director’s work will be negotiated with the Head of School of Education and the Executive Dean. The Director will be responsible to the Head of School for carrying out the Director’s duties. Members of the Management Committee may be removed from office for mismanagement or incompetence by a two-thirds majority vote by all members undertaken by secret ballot. The Director will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Centre and coordination of the fulfilment of the Centre’s operational objectives. A quorum at Centre meetings will be 50% of the members +1. Upon the resignation of the Director, an expression of interest will be circulated in the School of Education. Eligible candidates will normally be members of the Centre. Candidates will be invited to present a seminar (or a paper) outlining:

  • their vision on the Centre
  • the relationship of their previous work to Centre aims and objectives
  • their capacity to further develop the Centre, and
  • to mentor members of the Centre in research and consultancies
