Admission requirements
Applicaton (the EdD is only offered off-campus)
There are two closing dates for applications to enrol in the Doctor of Education:
- Late November
- Late April (mid year enrolment).
Please note that there is flexibility beyond the 'closing dates' but the processing and acceptance of late applications is contingent on finding suitable supervisors.
Admission
In order to be accepted into the EdD you have to provide evidence of potential to complete course work and research at the doctoral level. Normally, but not exclusively, this means successful completion of an Australian Masters Degree with a substantial research (ie empirical) component (at least 25% or where the Masters is completed over more than one year a substantial dissertation, say, 20,000+ words) or a Bachelors Honours Degree (1st or 2nd Class Div 1).
Credit
Students may complete course work units in an EdD program from another university. Should you elect to do this you will need to provide sufficient detail about the unit so that a judgment can be made about its appropriateness to your program of study and to the UNE EdD program.
Application forms
