The School of Education's core focus is to educate emerging and developing teachers, and this provides us with opportunities to showcase our research strengths and our commitment to high-quality, flexible teacher education. Our teaching staff are involved in acclaimed national and international centres of excellence in research projects focusing on our key subject areas.
In addition to our academic links throughout the New England region, across Australia and outwards across the globe, staff within the School of Education take tremendous pride in their commitment to the enrichment of experiences for the children of our local community. The School of Education co-ordinates and awards the following prizes to the students of our local schools:
- UNE School Acquisitive Art Prize (UNESAP); and
- UNE School Drama Prize (UNESDP) - Staff from within the School maintain close alliance with TalentEd - a site dedicated to the provision of material about the education of gifted and talented children within the community. Members of our staff specifically edit the TalentEd Journal.
