Social Science Education
The social science education team is able to provide for a range of undergraduate and postgraduate studies in society and environment curriculum. The team provides internal and distance education units of study in primary and secondary society and environment curriculum, secondary interdisciplinary social science, history, geography, legal studies and economics, commerce and business studies curriculum. Religious education units relevant to primary and secondary education are also provided.
Postgraduate studies are available in all of these curriculum areas.
Approaches used by the social science education team emphasise student centred inquiry learning which is compatible with and/or is required by modern society and environment syllabuses in both primary and secondary schools. Teaching and learning materials and activities for both internal and distance education students are designed to enable creative practical application of student centred inquiry learning approaches in primary and secondary classrooms.
