Whiteboard Cleaning Policy
Faculty Blackboard and Whiteboard Code of Practice and Procedure
- COACOL - Clean on Arrival, Clean on Leaving - is accepted academic etiquette. All teaching staff are entitled to expect clean boards upon arrival at a class, and are expected to leave the boards clean at the end. Cleaning can normally be accomplished using standard and long-established technology, viz: dusters and pads. It is advisable to carry your own whiteboard cleaning pad, along with whiteboard markers, to classes, since these items often go walkabout. Supplies can be obtained from your school AA.
- Teaching staff who use inappropriate tools on a whiteboard, viz: permanent markers, are responsible for cleaning the resulting mess (see below for where to get the required chemicals).
- The Resource Coordinator will request the Faculty cleaners to thoroughly clean whiteboards with appropriate chemicals on a weekly basis, to ensure that there is no build-up of graffiti.
- Cleaning materials for removing grafitti left by inappropriate markers, or for removing built-up grafitti (this shouldn't normally happen) are available from the Office Managers.
- Any problems with boards not solved by following the above policy - please see the Faculty Resource Coordinator.
