Web Pages Policy
Interim Policy for the Faculty of Economics Business and Law Web Pages
The Faculty of Economics Business and Law recognises the ever-increasing utilisation of the World Wide Web and the associated benefits of having accurate, up to date information, for the Faculty, held on the University web pages. This brief policy is an attempt to put in place some simple procedures that will ensure that our pages are updated on a regular basis. This policy also recognises the current structure of the Faculty and the duty statements of positions within the current structure.
1. The Faculty Web pages will consist of the following hierarchy
| Faculty Page |
| NEBS Pages | Law Pages | Econ Pages | Student Information & Faculty Administration | GSB |
| Structure at School discretion within consistent format standards |
2. The Faculty WebMaker will be responsible for updating and maintaining the Faculty Web pages. Schools, if they wish, in consultation with the Faculty WebMaker may have a designated person who can maintain and update their own pages. Schools will, however, be required to provide updated information in an electronic format to the Faculty WebMaker. It is the responsibility of the WebMaker to code the data into Web format using HTML code or other compatible software.
3. It is the responsibility of the School via the Head of School through their Administrative Assistant to ensure that the data contained on the Web is accurate and up to date. To help facilitate the continual update of the information, the Faculty WebMaker will be responsible for ensuring that schools, through their administrative assistants, are contacted on a regular basis for updated information. (Periods of between three and six months are suggested). The Faculty WebMaker will also arrange for photographs to be taken.
4. A typical school page will consist of the following information in the following format:
i. A staff list including the following, which should fit into one web page (approximately 250-300 words):
General Staff
Photograph, the position held, description of the position, contact details, qualifications, history and interests.
Academic staff
Photograph, the position held, description of the position, teaching areas, research areas, contact details, qualifications, academic history, interests and major publications.
ii. Information about the school, courses offered and research interests as outlined in the suggested format.
