** GENERAL STAFF ENTERPRISE BARGAINING UP-DATE

At the General Staff Enterprise
Bargaining meeting held on Wednesday 29 March
between the University and the NTEU, the following
issues were discussed:
1.UNE apologised for the delay with
the Managing Change clause and advised that it
would be presented to the NTEU soon.
2.UNE advised that the Grievance and
Dispute Resolution Procedures are still to be
amended and will be distributed when completed.
3. It was agreed by the parties that
more discussion was needed on the Casual Rates. It
was also agreed that NTEU will distribute the 3
hour clause.
4. UNE is to draft a provision for
the On-Call Arrangements.
5. UNE advised that they have revised
their offer to 7% and tabled a document to this
effect. UNE also tabled a document explaining the
organisational targets. NTEU advised that the
quantum offr is still not enough, also that
contingency may not be out of the question bu would
have to be underpinned by a substantial offer on
salary increases.
6. In regard to Broadbanding it was
agreed that UNE will provide a redrafted statement
on classification and the NTEU will provide
feedback on the rewards and recognition document.
7. It was also agreed that UNE is to
respond to the NTEU's log of claims.
