** GENERAL STAFF ENTERPRISE BARGAINING UP-DATE
**
At the General Staff Enterprise
Bargaining meeting held on Tuesday 28 March between
the University and the CPSU, the following issues
were discussed:
1.The CPSU tabled two additional
claims for consideration in the EB process and
advised that the CPSU will provide a detailed
clause on each item at a later date.
2. Ian Gallaway made the following
statement:
"Because it is CPSU's view that
UNE missused previous EB minutes between UNE and
CPSU, the union is not agreeable to minutes being
kept of future EB meetings.
CPSU believe however that a record
of agreed outcomes of proposed actions by either or
both of the parties to negotiations can be achieved
by exchange of letters and is agreeable to this
method".
4. The parties had discussion on the
claim for "no forced redundancy" and UNE tabled an
initial "no forced retrenchments" proposal. .
5. After some discussion on the
Managing Change document it was agreed that the
University will distribute a copy of the reworked
Academic Managing Change clause to CPSU and CPSU
will prepare a draft for particular change in
employment status.
7. UNE advised CPSU that discussion
has taken place with the NTEU to discuss extending
on-call provisions to staff other than IT staff and
it was agreed the University will provide the CPSU
with redrafted copies.
