SUMMARY OF MEETING OF HELD ON
9 NOVEMBER 1999
At the Academic Enterprise Bargaining Group meeting held this morning
between the University and the NTEU, the following issues were tabled and/or outcomes
resolved:
1. That the NTEU would provide to Brian Stoddart a detailed letter address
resourcing concerns and that both Team Leaders would meet to further discuss the issue.
2. There was discussion of the proposed seven days notice period for
meetings concerning EB. It was agreed that any meetings which discussed EB specifically
would be covered by the seven day notification period and that the substance of these
respective meetings would be provided on either the NTEU or management EB Web site.
3. Management provided financial information to the NTEU on student income
fees and a report on the University's deferred maintenance liability which was developed
by the Director of FMS.
4. Management provided a detailed verbal item to item response to the NTEU
Log of Claims.
5. It was agreed by the parties that all corrospondence and information
would be forwarded to the EEO Manager.
6. The following EB issues have been agreed in principle:
(a) preservation on current superannuation arrangements and including a
limit on the choice of funds.
(b) the inclusion of grievance and dispute resolution procedures in the agreement; and
(c) clause 18 in the UNE proposed agreement relating to subject and course co-ordination
allowance.
7. That a consolidation document of the UNE and NTEU log of claims would
be developed and that all further negotiations would take place from that document.
8. That the next meeting would determine areas of agreement, disagreement
and areas for further discussion. Further, this meeting would also develop a potential
timeline for future negotiations. |
