Your Room
You will be living in a single study bedroom, with telephone and internet connection, and central heating. You have ample wardrobe space, with lockable doors, mirror and space to stor your study materials. Pillows, blankets and sheets are provided and sheets are washed for you each week. Many students like to bring their favourite sheet set or doona. All beds have single matresses, with the option of extending their bed with the purchase of a bed extension from a foam retailer. Common rooms and kitchenettes include couches, a fridge, hot water, microwave and ironing facilities.
When packing for college you should consider bringing anything that will make college feel like home. Don't forget that there are plenty of shops in Armidale, so if you need a toothbrush, poster, study materials or even a fish, you can buy it here. Pack some costumes for college functions, or drop into vinnies on the day. Bring formal, semi formal and Ball outfites. We wear academic gowns at formal dinners which you will gain more information about when you arrive at college.
Many students bring a small TV, fridge, Computer/laptop, Ethernet cable (there is a data connection point in each room to connect you to the University network). There is also a College computer room with internet access if you need it. Don’t forget that you’ll need to get any electrical items ‘safety tagged’ by an electrician. Pack Sports gear, including swimmers and towel, joggers etc – remember; you don’t have to be good at sport, just give it a go and win participation points for the college! Also, pack warm clothes, Armidale can be a little cooler than you are used to, but your college room will always be warm. You’ll also need to bring towels. Don't forget posters, photos, blutac, plastic cup/bowel and utensils for late night noodles, washing basket, pegs and powder, toiletries, stationery, pens, etc.
