How to Succeed in business without really trying!!
Another successful Earle Page College musical. The cast, stage crew and band members, all members of Earle Page College, put on a marvious performance with parents of residents and the wider community enjoying the stage performance. Earle Page College provides for a variety of different interests and leadership opportunities. The anual musical has become a intergral part of the cultural aspect Earle Page Residents enjoy.
Parents Weekend
With the start of Parents Weekend, Pagite family members are invited along for a weekend to see how their sons and daughters live at EPC.
It all started on Friday night for Annual dinner with both students and parents alike attending. The annual Earle Page College Senior Common Room McCaroll prize for performing arts was awarded to Daniel Larkin at the dinner, with everyone being entertained by various acts throughout the night.
Saturday was the Annual Coast Run charity auction, raising over $11,000 for the Childrens Medical Research Institute. Saturday night also saw the closing of the very successful annual college musical,"How to Succeed in Business without really trying".
All in all it was a successful and enjoyable weekend for everyone involved.
Coast Run Breaks Record
The Earle Page College 2005 Coast run Committee formally presented CMRI with a record donation of $23,500 during this years annual Coast Run Fashion Parade. The Photo seen left shows Tim Purser (2005 Convenor) and Brett Power (2005 Treasurer, 2006 Convenor) presenting the Cheque to CMRI.
Fashion parade brings Riches to Charity
Fashion Parade raised over $4000 for the Childrens Medical Research institute this year with EPC students modelling cloths from a variety of different stores around the Armidale area. Earle Page College, The Coast Run Committee and CMRI would like to thank all who donated time and support for a worthy cause.
EPC Champions of Small Ensemble!
As part of a university wide competition Earle Page College entered and won the SFK small ensemble for 2006. Each group, no less than 2 while no more than 15, must perform a compilation of themed music spaning 8 to 10 minutes. The Earle Page College group used a Blues Brothers theme and blew away the competition with great music and stage presentation.
Arts Dinner
Every Year the SFK Committee hold a special charity Arts Dinner where a variety of performers from jugglers to musicians flaunt their talents on EPC's Stage. All performers are residents of EPC and everyone attends in force. This year's Arts Dinner was no different with the theme "Arts Hall of Fame". One can only ask where hippies, smurfs and cowboys and girls really sit when it comes to the Hall of Fame, but regardless, everyone had a top night.
A Block 80's
WIth the help of the Junior Common Room Committee, Pagites from A Block invited all to partake in their traditional 80's theme bash. The night kicked on till the early hours of the morning with plenty of movie stars, stereotypes and abominations of fashion attacking the dance floor with gusto. It is generally agreed that the next block party is not going to be soon enough.
Cab Ball Power and Authority
Our 2006 Cab Ball featuring the theme Power and Authority was as usual an awesome night. We had all sorts of costumes including firemen and policemen, husbands and wives, super heroes and super villains plus one very odd janitor. But it was only till the following morning when the fun really started. RE-covery, a tradition after every ball, swept everyone back into the party mood and gave us plenty of good photos and memories.
Beach Party
The Tradition Block Parties Have Started! Kicking off the new year was C-Block's much loved Beach Party with residents from C-Block helping the Junior Common Room Committee with Decorations and setting up, creating an authentic as possible outdoor Beach Party experience in Armidale.
A sad farewell for an old friend
Family, friends, current Pagites, ex-Pagites, academics and community members. On the 6th of March, we all said a final farewell to a beloved member of our community. Dr Peter Hemphill will be remembered for his commitment to Earle Page College's academic, admistrative and, more often than others, the social life he loved so much.
Intro Dinner
As all the freshers learn the various aspects of College, intro dinner presented another interesting experience, with guest speeches from the Chancellor, Mr John Cassidy, our College Master, Mr David Ward and many other figure heads. We also farewelled our Assistant Head, Mrs Simone Timbs who is leaving on materanity leave.
Fun Run
Ealre Page College actively and competitively competed in the University of New England's Fun Run organised by Sport UNE. Earle Page College managed to saturate both the men's and women's top ten. Big thanks to everyone who got in and had a go!
Gerros return in time for Toga and Bush Dance
The college welcomed back all the Gerro's from previous years, including some ex-Pagities to be a part of Earle Page's traditional O-week concludes. Toga Party and Bush Dance featuring the Lillie Pads went off with all being immersed in the atmosphere of the event, really getting down to what's important, hav'n a darn good time.
O-Week Stories
O-Week, a HUGE Success
The new intake of 2006 Fresher's have made the most for the first week in College with an extensive academic and social time table. All new students are sorting out the new challenges of university and can be seen really getting into the broad Earle Page College experience all Pagites have come to love. We are all looking forward to the old Geriatrics returning!
Preparations for O-Week
Another new year has started and Earle Page College is preparing its self for the 100+ new freshers and countless Geriatrics returning this year. Big thanks are to be awarded for the many hours both the staff and committees, (especially the JCR) are putting in to ensure a fantastic O-week experience for all.
