EPC Takes Out Men's Sporting Trophy, Again
The men of Earle Page College are still celebrating another great win in the inter-college President's Trophy competition. We're actually equal first this year but this win takes us to our 9th since 1990. We are the champions! The women came in 4th in their competition too!
EPC wins the inter-college Cultural Trophy
Mr. Ian Pastega was named 'Collegian of the year'. Ian leaves after 5 years of active College life, including being College President in 2004 and a Resident Fellow in 2005. We'll miss you, Pasta!
He is pictured with our famous long-term dining hall supervisors Narelle and Smiley. Ian also receives a cheque for $1000 from the EPC Anniversary Fellows given in Memory of Dennis Bourke.

Valedictory Dinner 2005
Another favourite night for Pagites is when we farewell the year, hand over to new College President, award the major prizes and awards and sing our College song, 'Piano Man'. The valedicts who are leaving this year celebrate with their traditional knotted napkins.
Sporties Dinner 2005
A great night, celebrating a great sporting year for EPC. Sportsman 2005 is Lars Newman and Sportswoman is Amanda West for the second year in a row! Amanda is pictured with guest speaker Mr John Brady from the National Rugby League.
26th Charity Coast Run
An amazing year for our charity program which includes this 220km run and the Annual Fashion Parade. 40 runners ran from the EPC front lawn to the end of the jetty in Coffs Harbour. Tim Purser and his Committee raised a record $24,000 for the Children's Medical Research Institute.
Parents Weekend
Friday August 12th saw college students celebrate their origins with the start of Parents Weekend. College students invited their families along for a weekend to see how they live at EPC. Friday night was Annual dinner, with both students and parents alike attending. The SCR/McCaroll prize for performing arts was also awarded to Mitch Brodie and Thomas Fell at the dinnner, with everyone being entertained by acts throughout the night. Saturday was the Annual Coast Run charity auction, raising money for the Chilrens Medical Research Institute. Saturday night also saw the closing of the very sucessful college musical. All in all it was a sucessful and enjoyable weekend for everyone involved.
EPC Says Goodbye To Ingrid
Friday night saw the college say goodbye the the university Vice Chancellor at Annual Dinner. Ingrid Moses has had a very close relationship with the college, which saw her even modelling in the annual fashion parade twice, and in order to recognise that relationship the college presented Professor Moses with some mementos of her time at college, incuding a gold handbag to match her new gown when she moves on to bigger and better things in the future. The college then farewelled Professor Moses as they would for final year college students by a traditional rendition of the song "Piano Man".
Musical- West Side Story
Parents weekend also saw the final performance of the college's production of "West Side Story". Parents filled the arts theatre on Saturday night to watch the final performnce, which had also been viewed in the preceeding days by members of the Armidale community, school groups from both Armidale and further afield as well as college residents. Congratulations to the student Director/Producer team of Emily Carroll and Ash Saberton for pulling the musical together, as well as the student cast and band members who made the musical such an enjoyable experience.
Alumni `informal get-together`
An EPC Alumni 'informal get-together' was held in London on 28th June. Unlike the 40th Anniversary Dinner held in Cambridge in 2003, it was a small mid-week event attended also by the Master, David Ward and his wife, Brigitte, and Former Master, Dr Philip Raymont. EPC Choir
On the 16th of June, the EPC choir competed in the Armidale Regional Eisteddfod, coming third in the Small Vocal Ensemble (open) section. This is a fantastic effort by the choir that is made up entirely of college students. The choir is also directed by a student member of the college, Christopher Gough, which again emphasizes the commitment of the College to providing leadership opportunites for students.
Fashion Parade
On Saturday the 4th of June the annual College Charity Fashion Parade was held in the Armidale Ex-Services Club. Over 350 people attended to watch college students model clothes from various local businesses. Thanks for this fantastic event go to the JCR, Coast Run Committee as well as the local businesses who donated clothing for the night. All funds raised go towards the college Coast Run, raising money for the Childrens Medical Research Institute.
SFK
This year EPC has been blitzing the competition in the inter college cultural competition. After winning Small Musical Ensemble, EPC backed up to come third in Theatre Sports on Sunday June 6th. This is generally our weakest event, so congratulations go out to everyone involved for coming up with the goods on the night! This means that EPC is coming equal first in the Sir Frank Kitto competition at the end of first semester.
Politics Dinner
Tuesday May 17th saw the annual Earle Page College Politics Dinner, with guest speaker the Hon. Alexander Downer giving his speech criticising Labor war policy since federation. The speech has created much interest from both sides of politics in national papers over the last week. respondants such as Paul Keating have commented on the foreign minister's interpretation of the events of WW1 and Australia's involvement in International conflict. The speech is downloadable off the ministers web site.
Sport
EPC is going strong in intercollege sport this year. In first term EPC beat St Alberts college in Presidents Trophy rugby, a big achievement as Albies is known for it's rugby heritage. EPC also won the PT AFL in second term. The girls Mary Bagnall competition is also going strong, with a second placing in the swimming carnival and waterpolo, and many other great results.
Arts Dinner
Wednesday, May 4th, saw Earle Page College celebrating "Arts around the world" at the annual charity Arts Dinner. Several students performed on the night, with acts ranging from the contemporary music of Oasis to some interesting stunts with a yo ho diablo. The money raised from this dinner goes to supporting the Annual Earle Page College Coast Run.
Narelle's 35 years of service to the college
2005 sees the 35th year of working in the Earle Page College dining hall for Narelle Dowse. Narelle, who along with other page favorite "Smiley" Cundy, has been at Earle Page almost since it's foundation 42 years ago. Narelle was rewardess at the College's Introductory Dinner on March 4 for her services to the college.
New Year at EPC
Another new year has started at EPC, and over 100 new freshers have been welcomed to the fold. O week started off with a bang, and it's thanks to all the committees (especially the JCR) who make this week such a success.
