Coast Run 2011

The Earle Page College Coast Run has been a permanent fixture on the College calendar for 32 consecutive years and depicts Page's commitment to servicing the wider community. The event is coordinated entirely by Page students and over the years has seen more than $450,000 raised in aid of the Children's Medical Research Institute.

The run follows a route that takes in the Armidale District through to Dorrigo where the first night is spent. The second day proceeds down the Dorrigo Range via the alternative scenic route and through to the city of Coffs Harbour. The majority of the run is conducted in a relay style format with participants running with a partner in one kilometre bursts. The entire group then embarks on a 22km run through the Deer Vale Loop with participants running as far as they can.

The whole group then runs the last 3km into Coffs Harbour. Whilst on the run, students carry a message from the Mayor of Armidale to the Mayor of Coffs Harbour. In 2011, the Mayor of Armidale drove one of the support vehicles.

The Coast Run is a great example of Earle Page's commitment to the wider community. It gives students the opportunity to pursue personal goals while at the same time contributing to a worthy cause.
