Why the year was so named: (From Warwick Giblen, College President 1974) "It was named after yours truely; I came from Guble in Central NSW and this was my nickname. So named because I fronted to the very first cricket trials for the College in first year wearing a BRIGHT RED!! Gumble premiers cricket cap."
