Study
Drummond and Smith College promotes personal development and academic excellence in a safe, supportive environment.
PEP – Pre-Examination Preparation. For the weeks before and during each exam period Drummond and Smith College has a curfew. This allows students to study in peace. Anybody making noise inappropriately will face serious disciplinary consequences. All of our students are at UNE to get their degree and we support them in this in every possible way.
We understand that they need an environment in which studying is supported and encouraged. PEP allows them to concentrate wholly on their studies without distractions. No college activities or functions are held during the PEP period to ensure that the atmosphere is conducive with intensive study.
7-11. Every Monday night our students bring their university work down to the dining hall for a big study session together. Academic mentors and senior tutors are on site to provide added support. They are trained to help with assignment queries, study questions and stress management. They are happy to help out with any uni questions. Getting everyone together to study helps take the boredom and loneliness out of studying by yourself. Everyone has the support that they need to be successful with their UNE studies.
Drummond and Smith College has a strict policy about students' academic performance, and placement in the college is dependent on consistent academic success. This ensures that an appropriate study environment is maintained.
Living in college provides students with an environment that allows them to concentrate on their studies, with ample support at hand and appropriate study facilities. These facilities include tutorial rooms, meeting rooms, the computer room and the exclusive Drummond and Smith Law Library.
