Drummond and Smith College!

Well done to our Hawkesbury Canoe Classic team for 2009. Every boat finished the 111km paddle and raised much needed funds for medical research!! To see 2008 photos click here.

CONGRATULATIONS to all D&S Boys who participated in the PT Sporting competition!! D&S came first in PT and third in the MB womens competition! That is an awesome effort from the smallest College, once again proving that quality over quantity is best! D&S were also 2008 Minor Premiers for both Soccer and Rugby League. Great job guys!

Why Choose Drummond and Smith College?

D&S Brady Bunch

*College provides you with accommodation and meals at reasonable prices.

*You won’t need to do any chores so you will have all the time you need to concentrate on your studies.

*Our ideal location gives you access to UNE’s Sports Facilities, the Library and lecture halls, the other Colleges and local bus stops. You won’t waste any time commuting to uni from across town.

*College is the centre for your social life, with functions and fundraisers, musical and cultural events, study groups and tutorials and plenty of sport.

*Living at College is an irreplaceable experience that will create memories and friendships that will last your lifetime.

*Being one of the smaller colleges makes us one of the friendliest colleges. It’s less intimidating and much more personal and welcoming.

*We have an inviting mix of national and international students from varying backgrounds, taking varying courses at UNE. Everyone adds something new and unique to the College.

*As a non-denominational college we really appreciate variety and diversity and embrace the many cultural backgrounds of our students.

*We are the only UNE College that can have its very own bonfire!! Our courtyard is so big that we can fit a jumping castle, a dancing stage, our picnic rugs and a bonfire at our annual Bushrangers night.

*We reward our students for academic, leadership, sporting and cultural success.

From the handbook (every student receives a College handbook which contains guidelines, rules and all College information): 'We aspire to excellence in all aspects of University life including academic, sporting and cultural endeavors. Our College values are integrity, responsibility, self-discipline, democracy, equity, trust and tolerance, environmental awareness, altruism, enthusiasm and fun. We respect ‘difference’ but appreciate true community involvement.'

Living in town just isn't the same!

D&S Students

At College, you don't have to:

  • do shopping, cooking or washing up
  • do cleaning, sweeping, dusting, or vacuuming
  • clean the bathroom, scrub mould or clean the toilet
  • garden or mow the lawn
  • waste valuable study time doing chores
  • waste valuable study time getting from town to your lectures
  • do assignments by yourself
  • get bored when there's nothing to do. There's always something on at College!

It’s simply impossible to make as many friends and have as good a time without D&S College!
