Applying for Subsidies

The conference committee hopes to be able to assist some participants whose own financial resources would otherwise preclude them from coming. We cannot guarantee any subsidies at this stage, but we will process applications to assist as many people as possible. We will not, however, be able to cover all costs related to conference attendance.

In order to qualify for consideration you must meet at least two of the criteria below.

  1. You are an applicant from Asia, Africa, the Pacific, Eastern Europe or South America
  2. You are from a minority faith/religious group.
  3. You are able to make a genuine contribution to the global multi faith aspect of our conference by eg presenting a paper or workshop, leading worship or facilitating a reflection group.
  4. You are from a region where there is little developed campus ministry and you would be prepared to act as a liaison person between your region and the next global chaplains' conference.
  5. You are an indigenous person of the country in which you are currently working.

An application can be made on the on-line form or you can download a copy, complete it and forward it to Johan Kijne.

We strongly recommend that you apply as early as possible, even if chances of your attending the conference may seem slim. This will put the national committee in the best possible position to consider all the applicants alike, once funds for financial support have been secured. It will also help us to apply for funds which require us to nominate specific people in the application form.
