IFAMA Agribusiness Study Tour 2018
World Conference and Student Case Competition, Argentina - Trimester 1
20 June - 4 July, 2018 (dates to be confirmed)
An exciting opportunity exists for students to participate in an agribusiness study tour of Argentina which includes attending the 2018 International Food and Agribusiness Management Association (IFAMA) Annual World Symposium and Forum in Buenos Aires and the opportunity to represent UNE in the (IFAMA) Student Case Competition. UNE won the undergraduate division of the competition in 2017.
Students will visit a number of agribusinesses (details at a later date) and experience the cultural diversity and spectacular landscapes of Argentina. Argentina has an abundance of natural resources and is one of the world’s major agricultural producers.
The IFAMA World Conference IFAMA connects current and future business, academic, government leaders and other industry stakeholders in a forum of interactive presentations and discussions of critical issues facing the global food and agribusiness system.
The IFAMA Student Case Study Competition brings together agribusiness sector students from around the world. The competition requires teams to work through a complex case study in four hours. Teams receive a real-world challenge, develop a creative, practical solution, and build a presentation that communicates their perspective, analyses and recommendations to a panel of judges.
The Study Tour will involve academic assessment. The assessment tasks for the unit will differ depending on whether students:
(i) participate in the agribusiness study tour and attend the IFAMA conference.
(ii) participate in the agribusiness study tour, attend the IFAMA conference and participate in the IFAMA Student Case Study Competition.
Students interested in participating in the IFAMA Student Case Study Competition will need to indicate their willingness to do so on the application form. Selection will be on a competitive basis.
