Unit Code

The unit code will be pre-populated with information obtained from the Work-in-Progress Course & Unit Catalogue, and should include offerings at higher levels separated by a forward slash.

Please check it for accuracy and make changes as appropriate and advise the Timetabling Office of any changes when you return the form.

Unit Name

In most cases, the unit coordinator will be pre-populated with information obtained from the Work-in-Progress Course & Unit Catalogue, or listed as "To be advised/TBA".

Intensive School Period

The period unit offered will be pre-populated with information obtained from the Work-in-Progress Course & Unit Catalogue.

Please check it for accuracy and make changes as appropriate and advise the Timetabling Office of any changes when you return the form. If the offering changes after you have returned the form, please advise the Timetabling Office as a matter of urgency.

Total Number of Students Attending

Please enter the number of students expected to attend the Intensive School.

This helps us allocate an appropriately-sized room and number of activity groups.

Approved No. of Days

The approved number of days will be pre-populated with information obtained from the Work-in-Progress Course & Unit Catalogue.

Please check it for accuracy and make changes as appropriate and advise the Timetabling Office of any changes when you return the form. If the number of days changes after you have returned the form, please advise the Timetabling Office as a matter of urgency.

Important: do not enter the dates of the Intensive School in this section. Dates will be administered by your School's Academic Coordinator/Manager, so please contact her/him with your preferred intensive school dates.

Activity Type

For each day of the Intensive Schools, Give each teaching activity a generic name, such as Lecture, Tutorial, Practical, Workshop, or Seminar, etc.

Each row in the table will be a separate activity, so if for example you want three Lectures, write Lecture 1 in the first row, Lecture 2 in the second row and Lecture 3 in the third row.

If a number of individual activities are not appropriate, simply enter Day 1 as the activity type. Timetabling can block book rooms as long as the start and end time of the day is correct and the room will be used for the whole duration it is allocated.

No. of Students

Enter the number of students you want to attend this activity.

If you want all students to attend the same activity, make sure this number matches your Total Number of Students Attending.

If you want to break up your students into smaller groups and offer the same activity multiple times, enter a number that divides your Total Number of Students Attending accordingly.

Start Time

Enter the time you want the activity to commence.

Please use times that are either on the hour or on the half-hour. Please ensure the Start Time and Duration are accurate to allow students to plan their travel and accommodation accordingly.

Duration

Enter the duration of the activity.

Please use 30 mins as the smallest increment. Please ensure the Start Time and Duration are accurate to allow students to plan their travel and accommodation accordingly.

Example: 6 hrs 30 mins

Type of Room Required

Enter a generic room type for this activity, such as Lecture Theatre, Tutorial Room, Seminar Room, Laboratory, or Computer Lab, etc.

Do not enter a specific room name/number unless it is essential to your teaching requirements. If it is essential, please make a note of this.

Equipment Required

Enter all the essential equipment you require for this activity, such as Data Projector, Whiteboard, Echo360, Video Conferencing, Microscopes, Mondo Pad, Document Camera, etc.

Attendance and other information for students

Enter any attendance notes or other information that is relevant for students.

We include this as up to three dot point/s on the unit's timetable, and each dot point is limited to 255 characters, so keep it brief.

Example: Attendance at this Intensive School is mandatory for on and off-campus students.

As there will be some outdoor fieldwork, please bring sturdy boots, hat, sunscreen, and wet weather gear.

Information for the Timetabling Office

Enter any information that is relevant for the Timetabling Office.

Important: make sure your information in this section does not contradict information in a previous section, or vice versa.

Example: W077 103 is essential for all four days of this intensive school due to the proximity to the Zoology Museum and specialised equipment required, which is housed only in this lab/building.
