| Unit Description |
Physiological adaptations of animals to their environment will be covered. The emphasis is on Australian vertebrates. This unit requires animal experimentation and/or dissection during some mandatory practical classes. Topics include energetics and thermoregulation of ectotherms and endotherms, osmoregulation in terrestrial, freshwater, marine and extreme environments. Practical work will be both laboratory and field based.
