Unit Description

This unit is designed for students who have passed the introductory Spanish units or have passed Spanish in the HSC or have equivalent competence. It offers a consolidation of written, oral, reading comprehension and communication skills in Spanish, providing a broad linguistic base for study of Spanish and Latin American culture, literature and civilisation.

Learning Outcomes (LO) Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
  1. demonstrate a development of their spoken and written linguistic skills in Spanish, to achieve a mid-intermediateproficiency level in the language;
  2. participate in discussions which cover a restricted range of sociocultural topics; and
  3. communicate in an increased variety of registers, ranging from the informal to the formal.
