Some projects cannot be undertaken off campus. Advanced standing cannot be granted for this unit. Approval for Enrolment form to be completed and submitted to the school for approval prior to enrolment in this unit. Form can be downloaded from http://www.une.edu.au/science-technology/Forms/SCI395%20Form%20for%20Approval.pdf At the discretion of the course coordinator, the program of study may include the unit SCI595 and involves a project and a project report. The project topic must be approved in advance by the course coordinator on the recommendation of the head of school. The project may take the form of a design, a management plan, a literature review, or a field or laboratory investigation. A student is not permitted to enrol in SCI595 until the appropriate course coordinator has approved a topic and one or more project supervisors. At least one such supervisor shall be a member of the school.

Unit Description

The GradDipSc thesis comprises the completion of a research project on a topic chosen in consultation with members of the academic staff. The thesis must comprise a literature review and the results of the research project. The thesis should not exceed 14 000 words, excluding tables, plates, figures, references and appendices. Further details are available from the Course Coordinator for Science.
