Unit Description

Topics include: first order equations; second order linear equations; series solutions; boundary value problems, and phase plane analysis. It is best if students do PMTH333 before this unit.

  1. demonstrate a basic understanding of the theory of elementary ordinary and partial differential equations and some of its applications;
  2. develop a basic knowledge about partial differential equations; and
  3. possess some of the elementary skills on the applications of differential equations.
