Unit Description This unit introduces students to fundamentals of structures within Western and non-Western music. Specifically, the student will be introduced to structures within Western tertial harmony, including realisation of figured bass and chord charts, rhythmic structures in place within Western and non-Western music and practical application of music concepts through composition. There is a strong emphasis on aural perception throughout.
