Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:

understand methodological approaches and issues pertaining to Italian language and literature studies;

demonstrate advanced analytical skills, in writing literary critical essays on aspects of Italian literature and/or Italian sociolinguistics;

display a broad knowledge and understanding of Italian language, literature, culture and society;

demonstrate advanced competence in Italian language, including semantic analysis and writing skills and the ability to apply these skills in a range of areas.
