Unit Description

This Italian unit introduces the literary works of women writers in post-war Italy. The texts studied concentrate on woman's search for self-identity in a modern society. This unit is now available in English to students with no knowledge of the Italian language.
Materials Textbook information will be displayed approximately 8 weeks prior to the commencement of the teaching period. Please note that textbook requirements may vary from one teaching period to the next.

Learning Outcomes (LO) Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
  1. critically analyse literary texts;
  2. demonstrate a knowledge of 20th century Italian literature;
  3. demonstrate a knowledge of the socio-political situation in modern Italy; and
  4. demonstrate an understanding of the characteristics of texts by Italian women writers.
