Unit Description

This unit complements ITAL101 and ITAL102; it is designed to introduce 20th-Century Italy to students of Italian through the study of Italian poetry, narrative, drama and cinema.

Learning Outcomes (LO) Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
  1. critically analyse literary texts;
  2. gain a basic knowledge of modern Italian literature and culture;
  3. gain some understanding of the socio-political situation in modern Italy; and
  4. further their language skills through the reading of modern Italian texts.
