Unit Description

This unit is the sequel to the two introductory units. It aims to bring students to a point where they can more competently read and understand and more accurately write and speak in Italian. It involves a partial revision and practice of basic grammatical points introduced in first-year Italian and the reading and appreciation of appropriate texts.

Learning Outcomes (LO) Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
  1. reach a pre-intermediate standard of understanding, reading, writing and speaking Italian;
  2. gain an increased knowledge of Italian culture and society than is achieved in ITAL101 and ITAL102; and
  3. gain an experience of language acquisition that will facilitate further language and non-language learning.
