Unit Description

This intermediate level unit builds upon the foundation gained in the first-year introductory units. Various aspects of Indonesian culture and society such as ways of making and maintaining contacts, shopping, discussing and obtaining medical services, etc. are introduced through a variety of texts. Aural, oral, reading and writing skills are developed through various communicative tasks and activities. Grammar is taught to help accelerate the acquisition of the language.

Learning Outcomes (LO) Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
  1. develop an enhanced understanding of Indonesian culture and people;
  2. communicate with an increased level of linguistic competence in the four macro skills, ie understanding, speaking, reading, and writing Indonesian, in a variety of everyday contexts; and
