Unit Description

This unit focuses on First Peoples and exhibition, subject to time and change. It highlights the interrelationship between politics and culture including voice, ownership and presentation. Emphasis is placed on the influencing factors of colonisation and post colonisation in Australia and internationally.

Learning Outcomes (LO) Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
  1. examine the nature and function of changing images and presentation of Indigeneity;
  2. examine the interrelationship of politics and culture along with voice, ownership and exhibition of, First Peoples;
  3. identify who gives expression to or articulates changing First People images; and
  4. identify the influencing factors of colonisation and post colonisation in Australia and internationally.
