| Unit Description |
This unit aims to explore with students the inter/trans-generational causes and effects of drug and substance abuse in Aboriginal families and communities. Students will examine the many causes including biological, psychological and social which can lead to this abuse. Students will also explore individual and community development and counselling approaches for intervention and treatment of substance and drug abuse. They will distinguish between culturally appropriate responses and what is required professionally and ethically.
