Unit Description

Germany is one of the leading business locations in Europe with a superb infrastructure and lifestyle. In this unit you will learn about the German working environment and culture while at the same time furthering your linguistic skills at a level of difficulty between intermediate and advanced, with an emphasis on the type of language needed in a professional setting.

Learning Outcomes (LO) Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
  1. speak, read, understand and write competently in German in the context of the workplace;
  2. recognise and use different registers of the target language; and
  3. demonstrate an understanding of conventions in German workplace and formal situations.

In this unit students will acquire the ability to speak and understand German.

Through reading texts from a variety of sources, students will gain a deeper understanding of the cultures of Germany, Austria and Switzerland which will require them to see their own cultures in a global context.
