Unit Description

The theme of the unit, and the framework for the three literary texts set, is war and the occupation of France by enemy forces.

Materials Textbook information will be displayed approximately 8 weeks prior to the commencement of the teaching period. Please note that textbook requirements may vary from one teaching period to the next.

Learning Outcomes (LO) Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
  1. demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of important literary works, written in French, or their equivalent in other areas of French and Francophone culture and civilisation;
  2. demonstrate skills in analysing French literary works; and
  3. relate literary forms to the social and political context in which the works were conceived.
