Unit Description

This unit complements the third-year language units by offering translation from and into French and work in the stylistic analysis of modern and contemporary French. The unit also complements the first translation unit, but may be taken independently of it.

Learning Outcomes (LO) Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
  1. translate accurately from and into French at an advanced level;
  2. demonstrate knowledge of, and attention to, culture-specific features of French; and
  3. analyse the stylistic features of contemporary French.
