Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
-
recognise, analyse and use a wide range of grammatical structures in French;
-
communicate in French, both written and oral, more effectively and with greater accuracy than previously, using structures and vocabulary learnt whilst studying the prescribed texts and films;
-
demonstrate an increased understanding of spoken French;
-
demonstrate a substantial awareness of the historical and socio-cultural context and terminology in which the texts and/or films under analysis were produced;
-
argue a case in written French in answer to a question based on the assigned texts; and
-
use monolingual and bilingual dictionaries to search for meanings, synonyms and nuances of meaning.
