| Unit Description |
This unit promotes critical reflection upon the processes involved in reading and writing. It encourages students to analyse their own reading experience in relation to theories concerning the reader's reception and the writer's production of texts. Students are exposed to critical thinking and personal reflection by writers past and present. The unit pays particular attention to issues surrounding the production, publication and reception of writing in English. Students are asked to analyse the skills necessary for writing in different genres, and apply these skills in several short writing assignments and one major project. |
