Unit Description

The major outcome of this unit is to engage in the preparation of a professional portfolio demonstrating the conceptual framework underpinning the student's teaching philosophy and containing documented evidence, from four years of critical reflection, of the attainment of mandated standards expected of a graduating trainee teacher. This evidence, incorporating all current policies, should encompass understanding of the subject content and syllabi documents; communicating to students; classroom management; teaching students of diverse backgrounds; assessing and reporting on learning; and relating to other teaching professionals, parents and the community. Assessment is by seminar, roundtable presentation and evaluation of the professional portfolio.
