Unit Description

This unit provides the necessary foundation for those desiring to teach Computing Studies at secondary school. Although particular learning activities are based on the NSW syllabuses, other syllabuses may be used. This unit involves sufficient preparation for teaching Computing Studies at the junior secondary level. The structure and content of the relevant syllabuses are necessarily analysed during the design of planning and assessment for effective learning. Evaluation of teaching practice is emphasized throughout the unit. Mandatory online participation provides opportunities to collaborate with peers while completing learning activities. This unit is offered fully online and requires ready access to a computer and the Internet.
