Unit Description

This unit is designed to provide students with an opportunity to design and carry out a small research project concerned with identifying the cognitive effects of learning experiences in which social networking tools are employed. The research project should employ technologies explored in other units.

Learning Outcomes (LO) Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
  1. design a small research project concerned with assessing the learning effects of computing technology in education;
  2. conduct a small research project involving computer-mediated learning;
  3. assess the cognitive effects of computer-mediated learning;
  4. refine skills in integrating computer-mediated learning in teaching practice; and
  5. communicate findings to others.
