| Unit Description |
This unit studies the foundations of communication networks in order to follow and contribute to their evolution. It describes the hardware and the software of computer networks. Topics include: physical layer; packet switching; Internet working, TCP/IP, Ethernet, LAN, WAN; introduction to Unix network programming; programmation of distributed applications under the Unix OS. |
