Unit Description

This unit explores emerging communication technologies, with an emphasis on digital and social media. It considers the history of digital media and contemporary uses of social media in professional, government and community contexts. Digital applications and networking concepts alter interpersonal and public communications. The unit looks at what resources are required to engage in digital media and online social networking. It also explores the opportunities that digital and social media offer for creative and professional purposes via the arts. This unit provides students with various new skills for participating in contemporary and future communication practices.
