Unit Description

This unit allows the student to propose a dissertation topic of their own choice from within the fields of study of the school, subject to the approval of the topic by the Head of the School of Arts. The dissertation will be 10 000-12 000 words in length.

Learning Outcomes (LO) Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
  1. understand and apply disciplinary methods and approaches in their selected field of study;

  5. critically apply the principles of selection, precis and attribution in academic writing, and recognise the importance of accurate annotation and bibliographical data.
