Unit Description

This unit aims to facilitate the integration of Rural Science curriculum material at farm and national level. Time will be allocated to a series of case studies/problems as well as to the use of models in the assessment of agricultural systems and their sustainability.
Materials Textbook information will be displayed approximately 8 weeks prior to the commencement of the teaching period. Please note that textbook requirements may vary from one teaching period to the next.

Learning Outcomes (LO) Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
  1. show an understanding of the interactions between soil, plant, animal and human systems;
  2. use detailed information from any of the disciplines studies during their degree to explain systems outcomes or to identify or solve problems of a management or resource nature;
  3. demonstrate an ability to solve problems via a logical progression of thinking;
  4. communicate their knowledge appropriately and in a professional manner; and
  5. work together in teams or as individuals to complete tasks within certain time constraints.
