Overview

This course is designed for those seeking a program which provides focused training in archaeology. While the program has been developed to meet the needs of Indigenous students, non-Indigenous students with an interest in Indigenous archaeology are also welcome.

Course Rules

1. Admission to Candidature
A candidate shall be qualified for admission (see Undergraduate Admission Rules)

2. Course Requirements
To qualify for the Diploma candidates must successfully complete 48 cp including all units in Group (a) and 12 credit points from Group (b) as follows:

Group (a)
ARPA104, NR331, IDIG100, IDIG101 or ENCO100. ARPA352, ARPA384

Choose 12 cp from Group (b)

ARPA302, ARPA343, ARPA351, ARPA356, ARPA359, HIST354

With the permission of the Head of the School of Humanities , one unit relevant to Indigenous Archaeology may be substituted for one of the above units.

3. Advanced Standing
A candidate may be granted advanced standing for units passed at this or another institution which has a reasonable degree of correspondence to units listed in rule 2. not more than 12 credit points of advanced standing may be granted under this rules.

General rule shall apply to advanced standing towards the Diploma in Indigenous Archaeology.

4. General Rules
The general rules of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences shall apply to the Diploma in Indigenous Archaeology.
