| Overview | This degree aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge that will enable them to function effectively both in Australia and overseas in an international business/commerce context. Students spend a year in a country of the language major with academic study at a partner university and a business work placement. |

| Course Rules | Credit Point RequirementsTo qualify for the award a candidate shall complete a total of 192 credit points with no more than 60 credit points at 100-level and at least 36 credit points at 300/400-level, excluding the in-country residence units. Program of Study
To view complete Program of Study click here Approved MajorsChinese Exit PathwaysCandidates who discontinue their studies in the course may be eligible to exit with the Bachelor of Arts on completion of 144 credit points, with 48 credits points in each of two approved languages of which at least 18 credit points are at 300/400-level, excluding in-country residence units; or may be eligible to exit with the Diploma in Modern Languages on completion of 48 credit points in one approved language. Advanced StandingAdvanced standing shall not be granted for in-country residence units. |

| Practical, Clinical or Work Experience | Candidates have the opportunity of completing a business work placement overseas, in the country of their target language. |

| Advanced Standing | Students may apply for advanced standing towards the Bachelor of Languages and International Business degree on the basis of previous tertiary study. No advanced standing is given for OSLS 391, OSLS 392 or OSWP300. | |||||||||||||||
| Other Benefits | Students may spend the first unit of their intercalary year at a university with which the School of Languages, Cultures and Linguistics has formal agreements or at any other university approved by the School. Currently, agreements or bilateral exchange agreements exist with specific universities in China (Guilin, Xi'an), France (Angers, Saint-Etienne) and French-speaking Canada (Quebec City), Germany (Oldenburg, Trier) and Austria (Graz, Klagenfurt), and Japan (Hiroshima, Kagoshima, Nagoya, Tokyo). Such agreements typically mean that tuition fees are waived, that help is given with finding accommodation and that an element of pastoral care is provided. Some financial assistance is available in connection with study at certain of these universities. Students have the opportunity of completing a business work placement overseas, in the country of their target language. |
