Overview

The degree develops knowledge of communication technologies in various cultural, social and historical contexts. Graduates will understand and apply a range of disciplinary methods for studying specific communications media (print, audio and audiovisial, electronic), the changing relations between them and their role in modern society.

Students can study related disciplines such as history, literature, theatre, sociology, political science, or psychology.

Honours Candidates who have successfully completed the Bachelor of Communication Studies may, on the recommendation of the head of school concerned, continue to an honours year. The honours program shall include advanced coursework and a dissertation.
